Operation experience of loading surgical instruments with sterilized basket in supply room

With the continuous development of disinfection and sterilization technology, the types of sterilization packaging materials continue to increase. How to choose and use packaging materials reasonably can effectively control nosocomial infection and reduce cost. Sterilization packaging of surgical instruments is an important link in the process of disinfection supply and treatment, which directly affects the sterilization effect, service life and quality of surgical instruments, and is also related to the effective control of nosocomial infection and the guarantee of medical safety. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Health, surgical instruments should be placed in baskets or perforated plates for matching packaging. Since June 2011, the sterilizing and supply center of the hospital where the author worked has loaded surgical instruments with perforated stainless steel sterilizing baskets. According to the standardized operation procedures and techniques, the surgical instruments packaged are beautiful in appearance, thoroughly sterilized and clinically satisfactory. It replaces the previous method of wrapping surgical instruments with textile cloth to maintain the aseptic state of sterilized articles, protect surgical instruments, and facilitate transportation, storage and use.

1 Packaging process

1.1 Basket selection

There are two kinds of stainless steel baskets purchased by the hospital of the author. Baskets No. Ⅰ 340 cm×250 cm×70 cm are used for 20~60 pieces of surgical instruments (mostly used for midabdominal surgical instruments), and baskets No. 400 cm×250 cm×70 cm are used for 60 pieces of surgical instruments

On (brain surgical instruments), the bottom of the basket is padded with cotton pad or double-layer textile cloth, which can prevent the instruments from sliding and absorbing condensation in the process of sterilization.

1.2 Device assembly

(1) Inspection of instrument quality: including inspection of instrument cleaning quality, functional quality, disassembly of instruments, and supplement lubrication of instruments. (2) List of instruments placed in the basket. Count and check the number and specifications of instruments according to the list. The instrument list is made of rubber leather, on which the names, specifications and quantities of all the instruments in the package are written, for the convenience of packers and users to check. (3) Instrument placement: Instrument placement shall be in accordance with the requirements of "Management Specifications for Hospital Disinfection Supply Center". Surgical instruments can be installed in series, and protective covers can be used for sharp instruments. (4) put the sterilized material in the package

1.3 the packing

Closed packing method: double layer non-woven fabric in accordance with GB/T 19633 requirements was selected for double packaging. The outer layer of the Ⅰ basket is 100 cm×100 cm non-woven fabric, the inner layer is 80 cm×80 cm non-woven fabric, and the two layers of the NO. Packing method: double fold packing for inner layer, envelope packing for outer layer. After packing, use sealing tape to seal the package and keep the closure in good condition. Finally, the sterilization item label should be affixed to the outside of the package, including the sterilization date, the number of sterilization pans, the number of sterilization pans, the name or number of packers,

Sterilization kit name expiration date, and 3M sterilization chemical indication card.

2. Effect evaluation of the two groups of packaging methods

2.1 Comparison of old and new packaging methods

Sterilization packaging equipment is a kind of sterilization packaging materials for surgical instruments. After the final sterilization packaging, it should be beneficial to sterilization, can be fixed, protect the instrument, have the ability to resist sting and tear, and do not be contaminated when the instrument is removed aseptically. Thus, the author used

It can meet the final sterilization packaging conditions and meet the requirements of "Management Specifications for Hospital Disinfection Supply Center", and can be safely used for sterilization packaging of surgical instruments. However, there is usually no disk cover, which affects the stability of the equipment and the tightness of the packaging after sterilization. In view of the above deficiencies, the author adopts cotton pad to lay in the basket during the packaging operation to prevent the equipment from sliding, so as to increase the stability and absorb condensed water in the process of sterilization. Selecting double-layer non-woven fabric as the outer packing and sealing the package with sealing tape, the sterilized package after packaging is beautiful and has good closure, which makes up for the defect of the non-disk cover of the basket, and can completely achieve the purpose of maintaining the sterilized items in aseptic state, protecting the equipment, and convenient transportation, storage and use. From packaging to clinical application, through quality monitoring and feedback, the author found that a series of links such as recovery, cleaning, packaging, sterilization, transportation, storage and use have been affirmed and supported by using sterilized basket to pack surgical instruments.

2.2 the advantages

Sterilization basket is a reusable packaging material, easy to clean, long service life, low purchase cost. In the application, the maintenance and protection of surgical instruments can be strengthened and the service life can be extended, which reflects the rational application of resources and can reduce consumption and increase efficiency.

3 discuss

The use of sterilization basket packaging surgical instruments eliminates the disadvantages of double-layer textile cloth packaging surgical instruments. Compared with rigid sterilization box packaging surgical instruments, the purchase cost is lower, it can reduce consumption and increase efficiency, and it can ensure medical safety. It is worthy of popularization and application in secondary and tertiary hospitals, but it also has some defects. As for the packaging of precision surgical instruments, qualified tertiary hospitals should still choose rigid containers.
